Sector risk context
Food and agriculture AI spans two risk profiles within one SCP. Agricultural AI (crop management, precision agriculture, livestock monitoring, yield prediction) carries primarily economic and environmental harm. Food-processing and distribution AI (safety inspection, contamination detection, supply-chain traceability, cold-chain monitoring) carries direct physical-harm risk — a safety AI failing to detect contamination creates mass public-health incidents analogous to the water sector. Climate and food-security AI is an emerging category with human-rights implications for food-insecure populations.
