PAI-SF / 2 / PAI-SF-ACT-003

Actuator Health and Divergence Monitoring

Objective

Detect actuator behavior diverging from commanded behavior (mechanical wear, unexpected resistance) before it becomes unsafe.

Control / requirement

Closed-loop comparison of commanded vs. actual actuator response, flagging discrepancy beyond a defined threshold.

Applicability

All systems with powered actuation subject to mechanical wear or environmental resistance changes.

Expected evidence

Discrepancy logs; maintenance-trigger records. [T2]

Assurance expectation

Evidence that discrepancy thresholds are tied to safety consequence, not only performance/efficiency concerns.

Dependencies

PAI-SF-SUP-002 (Domain 9 update/regression testing) where firmware updates could shift actuator response characteristics.

Exclusions

Not applicable to actuators with no meaningful wear- based failure mode.

Maturity / conformance relevance

Expected at Operational and High-Assurance levels.

Ecosystem relationship

Provides actuator-anomaly incident categories for UAIF™, distinct from ACT-002's command-path- security categories.

Domain

3. Edge Hardware and Model Attestation
