Human Proximity Zone Design and Validation
Objective
Ensure zones where humans may be present are explicitly designed and validated as part of the environment, not incidentally covered by kinematic limits alone.
Control / requirement
Physical zone design (signage, barriers, sensor coverage) validated against actual human traffic patterns.
Applicability
All physical AI systems operating where human presence is possible.
Expected evidence
Zone design documentation; validation walk-through records. [T2]
Assurance expectation
Evidence the validation reflects observed traffic patterns, not only initial design assumptions.
Dependencies
PAI-SF-ACT-001 (Domain 2, kinematic bounding) — zone design and force/speed limits are complementary, not substitutes for each other.
Exclusions
Not applicable to systems with no possibility of human presence in the operating environment.
Maturity / conformance relevance
Expected at all conformance levels for human- accessible environments.
Ecosystem relationship
A genuinely separate, physical/spatial design question from Domain 2's force/speed bounding — no overlap.
