Multi-Modal Cross-Validation
Objective
Prevent single-sensor spoofing or blinding from causing unsafe action.
Control / requirement
Critical physical actions require corroboration from at least two independent sensor modalities; disagreement triggers a defined safety response.
Applicability
Systems where a single perception failure could lead to unsafe physical action.
Expected evidence
Sensor fusion architecture documentation; cross- validation test results; disagreement-response test records. [T2/T3]
Assurance expectation
Test evidence covering representative disagreement scenarios, not only nominal-agreement operation.
Dependencies
PAI-SF-SAF-001 (safe-state response on unresolved disagreement).
Exclusions
Not applicable to non-safety-critical perception functions.
Maturity / conformance relevance
Expected at all conformance levels for safety-critical perception.
Ecosystem relationship
Extends GAISSF™ model-input integrity to physical sensor diversity; provides sensor-manipulation incident categories for UAIF™; informs AI-IRF™ sensor-incident containment.
