Certification Mark Usage Guidelines

Rules governing use of the AI IRF CERT® mark by Certification Bodies, partners, and certified organisations — Schedule 2 to all CB Licensing Agreements

1. Overview of the Certification Mark

The AI IRF CERT® mark (the “Mark”) is a registered trademark of ODA3 Pvt Ltd (trademark application no: 7770037). ODA3 Institute is the market-facing brand name of ODA3 Pvt Ltd; both refer to the same legal entity. The Mark signifies that an organisation has been assessed against the AI-IRF® v1.0 standard by an accredited Certification Body and has achieved the required level of conformance. The Mark is governed by GEL v1.0 §9.1 and §9.3 — see https://docs.oda3.org/ for full terms. Its misuse undermines trust in the entire scheme and constitutes a breach of GEL v1.0.

These Guidelines specify exactly how, where, and by whom the Mark may be used — and what is prohibited. They apply to all parties holding or deriving rights from a current CB Licensing Agreement, training provider agreement, or Tier 3 OEM agreement with ODA3 Pvt Ltd.

2. The Mark — Variants and Canonical Set

The following variants constitute the canonical AI IRF CERT® mark set. All variants are owned by ODA3 Institute. Only variants in this set, supplied by ODA3 Pvt Ltd from the official asset package, may be used. Any modification, recreation, or approximation of the Mark is prohibited.

2.1 Canonical Colour Values

The following values are mandatory. Approximations are prohibited.

3. Downloadable Mark Asset Package

3.1 Asset Package Contents

Upon execution of a CB Licensing Agreement, ODA3 Pvt Ltd will provide the accredited CB with the official Mark Asset Package via secure download link. The package contains all canonical variants in the formats specified below. No other source of Mark files is authorised.

3.2 File Naming Convention

All asset files in the official package follow the naming format: AIRF-[VARIANT]-[SIZE].[EXT]

3.3 Obtaining Updated Assets

When ODA3 Institute issues updated Mark files (e.g. following trademark registration, minor refinements, or new variant releases), ODA3 Pvt Ltd will notify all active CBs and provide a new download link. CBs must transition to updated assets within 60 days of notification. Older file versions must not be used after that deadline. CBs may not re-host or redistribute Mark files to third parties; each certified organisation must obtain assets directly from the CB, not from third-party sources.

4. Permitted Uses

4.1 Certification Bodies

Accredited CBs (holding a current CB Licensing Agreement) may use the Mark for:

  • AI IRF CERT® certificates issued to certified client organisations;
  • CB audit reports, Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessment reports referencing AI-IRF® v1.0;
  • CB website pages describing the CB's accredited status and scope of certification services;
  • CB marketing collateral (brochures, presentations, email campaigns) promoting AI-IRF® v1.0 certification services;
  • conference presentations, trade show materials, and thought leadership content by CB personnel; and
  • CB email footers and letterhead, with mandatory co-branding language (see Section 5).
  • 4.2 Certified Organisations

    An organisation that holds a current, valid AI IRF CERT® certificate issued by an accredited CB may use the Mark badge (AIRF-B variants only) for:

  • its own website, limited to pages describing its AI governance or certification status;
  • its own marketing materials, press releases, and investor communications, provided the certificate is current and valid;
  • annual reports and regulatory submissions that reference AI governance certifications; and
  • email signatures of personnel in roles directly related to AI governance.
  • 4.3 Training Providers

    Approved training providers (holding a current training provider agreement with ODA3 Pvt Ltd) may use the Mark in the following limited form only: the text "Authorised Training Provider — AI-IRF® v1.0" alongside the AI IRF CERT® wordmark (AIRF-C-H or AIRF-K-H only) on course materials, website course pages, and training certificates of completion. Training providers may not use the AI IRF CERT® mark in any form that implies they conduct audits or issue AI IRF CERT® certificates.

    4.4 OEM Partners

    Tier 3 OEM partners (holding a current Enterprise OEM Agreement) may use the text "Supports AI-IRF® v1.0" or "AI-IRF® v1.0 Ready" in product documentation and marketing, without the AI IRF CERT® mark device, unless a specific co-branding arrangement has been agreed in writing with ODA3 Pvt Ltd.

    5. Required Co-Branding Language

    All uses of the AI IRF CERT® mark by CBs and certified organisations must include the following attribution line in proximity to the Mark (same page or screen):

    Where space constraints make the full attribution line impractical (e.g. badge use in an email signature), the following short form is permitted:

    The attribution line may not be omitted from printed certificates, audit reports, or press releases regardless of space constraints.

    6. Prohibited Uses

    7. Size and Clear Space Rules

    7.1 Minimum Size

    7.2 Clear Space

    A clear space equal to the height of the letterform "A" in the wordmark (approximately 15% of the total mark height) must be maintained on all four sides of the Mark. No text, graphic element, image, or other mark may appear within this clear space. This rule applies to all print and digital applications without exception.

    8. Background and Contrast

    9. Referencing the Standard in Text

    When referring to the standard in text (as distinct from displaying the Mark device), use the following terminology:

    10. Reporting Suspected Misuse

    Any party that becomes aware of apparent unauthorised use of the AI IRF CERT® mark or ODA3 Institute name should report it promptly to:

    Reports are treated confidentially. ODA3 Institute will acknowledge receipt within 5 business days and advise on next steps. Reporting suspected misuse in good faith is encouraged and will not prejudice the reporting party's accreditation or agreement with ODA3 Institute.

    11. Approval Requests

    Uses of the AI IRF CERT® mark not expressly covered by these Guidelines require prior written approval from ODA3 Pvt Ltd before use. Approval requests should be sent to CONTACT_AT_ODA3_DOT_ORG with:

  • a description of the proposed use;
  • the context and audience;
  • a mock-up or draft of the material showing the Mark placement; and
  • the intended publication or distribution date.
  • ODA3 Pvt Ltd will respond within 10 business days. Approval is specific to the use described; it does not constitute blanket approval for similar uses. Approved uses must still comply with all size, colour, clear space, and co-branding requirements in these Guidelines.

    12. Updates to These Guidelines

    ODA3 Institute may update these Guidelines at any time. Where an update materially affects the rights or obligations of CBs or certified organisations, ODA3 Pvt Ltd will provide not less than 60 days' notice before the update takes effect. All parties must comply with the updated Guidelines from the effective date. CBs are responsible for notifying their certified clients of any changes affecting mark usage. The current version of these Guidelines is always available from ODA3 Pvt Ltd on request.

    These Guidelines are incorporated as Schedule 2 to the CB Licensing Agreement between ODA3 Pvt Ltd and the CB named below.
